Data Collect is a self-onboarding solution that allows your beneficiaries (payees) to provide their own bank account information, PIX keys, and other required data. This reduces errors, accelerates payment processing, and improves data quality.
What is Data Collect?
Data Collect is a feature that enables beneficiary self-onboarding. Instead of you manually collecting and entering bank details, you send a link to your beneficiary, who then provides their own information directly to WEpayments.
Benefits:
- Reduces data entry errors
- Accelerates KYC and compliance checks
- Improves payment success rates
- Eliminates back-and-forth for missing information
Is it possible to send a PIX key for validation?
Yes. Before processing a payment, you can validate a beneficiary’s PIX key to ensure it is active and correctly associated with a bank account.
How PIX key validation works
- Provide the PIX key (CPF, CNPJ, email, phone, or random key)
- WEpayments checks the key against the Central Bank’s PIX directory
- You receive confirmation of:
- Whether the key exists
- The associated bank account type (checking or savings)
- The beneficiary name (partial or full, depending on privacy rules)
💡 Validating a PIX key before processing reduces the risk of failed payments due to incorrect keys.
How does the Data Collection flow work?
⚠️ Important: Data Collect is not a payment execution tool. It only collects and validates beneficiary data. After collection, you still need to create a Payout using the validated data.
How to send payments via Data Collect
After a beneficiary’s data has been successfully collected and validated:
- Go to Payout > Payment List
- Click “Create Payment”
- Select the beneficiary from your Data Collect list (instead of manually entering data)
- Enter the amount
- Submit the payment
💡 Using Data Collect beneficiaries eliminates manual data entry and reduces failure rates.
Understanding Data Collect filters
You can filter your Data Collect requests by:
| Filter | Description |
|---|
| Created on | Date or period of the data collection request |
| Status | Pending, completed, failed, under review |
| Beneficiary name | Name of the person or company |
| Tax ID (CPF/CNPJ) | Beneficiary’s tax identification number |
| PIX Key type | CPF, CNPJ, email, phone, random |
Data Collect statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|
| Pending | Link sent to beneficiary, awaiting their submission |
| In analysis | Data submitted, being validated by WEpayments |
| Completed | Data validated and approved – ready for use in Payouts |
| Failed | Data validation failed (incorrect format, invalid PIX key, compliance rejection) |
| Expired | Beneficiary did not submit data before the link expired |
Data Collect vs. Manual Payout entry
| Aspect | Manual Entry | Data Collect |
|---|
| Who enters data | You (merchant) | Beneficiary (payee) |
| Error rate | Higher (typos, missing digits) | Lower (self-verified) |
| Validation | You must validate manually | WEpayments validates automatically |
| Time to process | Slower (back-and-forth for corrections) | Faster (data pre-validated) |
| Best for | One-off or trusted beneficiaries | Mass payments, large beneficiary lists, recurring payments |
