Deposits are used to fund your Payout operations within the WEpayments platform. Before sending payments, your Payout wallet must have sufficient available balance. Deposits allow you to add funds to your account and make them available for future transactions. This article explains how deposits work, how to create and manage them, and what to do if your balance has not been updated.

What are deposits?

Deposits are manual or automated additions of funds to your WEpayments Payout wallet balance. Unlike Payin (which receives payments from customers), deposits come from your own bank account or other sources you control.
💡 Think of deposits as “topping up” your WEpayments balance to enable outgoing payments.

How to create a deposit

Via Dashboard

  1. Go to the Deposits menu (under Payout or Account sections)
  2. Click “Create deposit”
  3. Select the source bank account
  4. Enter the amount and any reference information
  5. Confirm the deposit

Editing deposits

You can edit certain deposit details before they are processed. After a deposit is confirmed or settled, changes may not be possible.

Common issue: Deposit created but balance not updated

If you created a deposit but your Payout wallet balance hasn’t been updated yet:
💡 Check the deposit status in the Dashboard. Only deposits with “Confirmed” or “Credited” status will update your available balance.
