Depending on your business model, your operation may involve different participants, payment flows, and compliance requirements. Understanding these concepts will help you navigate the platform more effectively.

Merchant

A Merchant is the business responsible for processing transactions through the WEpayments platform. Depending on the operational model, the merchant may collect payments, send payouts, or manage both activities.

Payment Service Provider (PSP)

Many WEpayments clients operate as Payment Service Providers, facilitating payment services for their own customers. In these scenarios, the PSP manages operations while leveraging WEpayments infrastructure and operational support.

Sub-Merchant

A Sub-Merchant is a business operating under a PSP structure. PSPs may manage multiple sub-merchants within their ecosystem while maintaining centralized operational control.

Beneficiary

A Beneficiary is the individual or legal entity receiving funds through a payout transaction. Beneficiaries can receive payments through Pix keys or traditional bank account details, depending on the payment method selected.

Settlement

Settlement is the process through which collected funds are transferred and made available according to the agreed operational flow. Settlement timelines may vary depending on the payment method, business model, and operational requirements.

Compliance Reviews

As a regulated payment institution, WEpayments applies compliance controls designed to support regulatory requirements, fraud prevention, and transaction security. Certain transactions may be subject to additional verification or documentation requests when necessary.
