The Companies section allows you to manage and view the entities associated with your WEpayments operation. Depending on your business model, a single account may contain multiple companies, merchants, or operational entities. This structure helps organize balances, transactions, reporting, and payment operations according to your business needs.

Why Are Companies Used?

Companies provide a way to separate and manage different entities within the same operational environment. This is particularly useful for:
  • Payment Service Providers (PSPs)
  • Marketplaces
  • Cross-border payment operations
  • Businesses managing multiple legal entities
  • Merchant and sub-merchant structures
Each company may have its own operational information, balances, transactions, and reporting data.

The WEpayments company hierarchy

The structure follows a PSP → Merchant → Sub-Merchant/MID model:
LevelDescription
PSP (Payment Service Provider)WEpayments acts as the PSP, providing the payment infrastructure.
Merchant (Main account)Your primary company account. All transactions, balances, and sub-entities are managed from here.
Sub-Merchant / MID (Merchant ID)Sub-accounts under your main merchant account. Useful for managing multiple brands, subsidiaries, or client portfolios.

What you can do in the Companies menu

  • View all companies linked to your main account
  • Create and manage sub-merchants (MIDs)
  • Configure settings per company (e.g., payment methods, settlement rules)
  • Monitor balances and transactions at the sub-merchant level
💡 Sub-wallets (sub-portfolios) are often linked to specific sub-merchants. You can filter transactions by payee (split) in reports and statements.
